Poem by Ada Aharoni: Mount Carmel Pomegranates

Mount Carmel Pomegranates

The trees smile, the trees laugh, the trees sign,
and every pomegranate on Haifa's Mount Carmel,
peals its love song:
take her tenderly by the hand
wherever you go,
she is part of you
we are witness.
The trees whisper,
the trees weep,
the trees sleep,
when he goes
and leaves her smile behind,
awakes at morning
in a snow land
kissing his own
cold hand...
